Socialization (a.k.a. tire your dog out!)

Make sure to have a TARGET STICK (this can be a real target stick or just a wooden dowel rod with magic marker on the tip). Bring a clicker (any type you've got), a 6 foot nylon, cotton or leather leash (no retractable leads please), LOTS OF YUMMY TREATS!, a HUNGRY DOG and an open mind!
